The Caledonia Warriors scored touchdowns against St. Charles nearly every way possible last Friday night, as they pounded the home-standing Saints 56-0.

The Warriors scored their first three TDs on the ground, their fourth and fifth touchdowns through the air, the sixth on an 80-yard kick-off return to start the second half, the seventh on a run and the final score on a 52-yard interception.

Ivan Augedahl started things out with an 18-yard run. The Austin Goergen kick was good and the visiting Warriors had a 7-0 lead.

Josh Gran scored the next two TDs for Caledonia on one-yard runs. The Goergen kick was good following Gran’s first TD run and Connor McCormick made it 22-0 with a two-point conversion following Gran’s second TD. Gran and Luke Lampert then connected on two pass plays for touchdowns in the second quarter. The fist was from 15 yards out. The second from 19 yards. Goergen’s kicks were good following each TD and Caledonia took a 36-0 lead into the halftime intermission.

Luke Lampert took the opening kickoff of the second half 80 yards for Caledonia’s sixth TD of the night. The Goergen kick was good and the rout was on, 43-0.

Caledonia scored two more TDs in the final period. The first came on a 10-yard run by McCormick. Goergen’s sixth extra point attempt was good for a 50-0 lead.

Caledonia scored their final touchdown of the night when Houston Halverson stepped in front of a Saints pass and returned the INT 52 yards for the score. The extra point kick was blocked and the Warriors picked up their third straight win with a 56-0 victory.

Offensive stats

Augedahl had another big night carrying the ball. He rushed nine times for 102 yards and a TD. McCormick rushed eight times for 37 yards and a two-point conversion. Gran rushed three times for four yards and two TDs.

Luke Lampert had four punt returns for 73 yards and one kick-off return for 80 yards and a TD. Houston Halverson had one punt return for 20 yards.

In the passing department, Gran completed seven of 12 passes for 124 yards and two TDs and Kennan Bruening completed one pass in on attempt for two yards.

Lampert caught four passes for 69 yards and two TDs. Adam Drenckhahn had two catches for 40 yards, Ryan Rusert had one catch for 15 yards and Brent Colsch had one catch for two yards.

Defensive stats

Zach Lechner led the Warriors with seven tackles, a deflected pass and caused a fumble. Travis Frank also had seven tackles and a QB sack. Mitch Reiser and Justin Felten both had six tackles. Alex Betz had four tackles and a sack, Bruening had four tackles and an INT, while Jim Costigan, Ethan Lapham, Jared Hegge and Josh Lampert all had four tackles. Goergen had three tackles and a deflected pass and McCormick, Seth Kasten and Troy King all had three tackles. Ryan Mauss, Luke Lampert, Greg Becker, Brandon Vonderohe, Cody Colsch, Augedahl, Gran, Brent Colsch,  and Halverson all had two tackles and Halverson returned an INT 52 yards for a TD.

The Warrior offense racked up 269 total yards with 143 on the ground and 126 through the air. The Caledonia defensive held St. Charles to 99 yards of offense, with 66 on the ground and 33 yards passing.

The Warriors will host Rushford-Peterson this Friday night for their first home game of the season.
